Courteney's story

At 22-years-old, Courteney Cartwright is the newest and youngest member of Kids Kabin’s Board of Trustees, bringing to this vital voluntary position the unique insight she has gained from her vast experience with the organisation throughout all stages of her life.

You see, from joining Kids Kabin as a member when she was just eight years old, Courteney went on to become a young volunteer at the age of 15 before joining the staff team as a Youthwork Apprentice in 2022.

Noor's story

Noor Amer was named North East Young Charity Champion of the Year for her work with Kids Kabin, having been a volunteer for four years.

She's from Cowgate and is committed to giving local children positive opportunities and bringing the community together.

Paul's story

Paul had been coming to Kids Kabin Cowgate since he was eight when he told us his story, having grown up to become one of our young volunteers.

Tyler's story

Tyler first came to Kids Kabin when she was eight. She'd been told about Kids Kabin by her older cousin who already took part and said: "I was really excited when I finally turned eight."

Dr. Spark's story

Dr. Michael Spark has been fundraising to support our annual trips to Seahouses for the last 15 years, giving hundreds of children the opportunity to experience the beautiful Northumberland coast — many for the first time.

“Having seen Kids Kabin in action in Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, we’re really impressed by the outcomes of their organic approach to engaging young people.  Residents have welcomed the volunteers, and we look forward to seeing how Kids Kabin can further complement our continued investment in the community, environment and properties in the area.”
