A new campaign is cooking for our community!

You may remember a few years ago that Kids Kabin was chosen by Tesco as one of the recipients of its in-store vote, a long-standing campaign that sees shoppers use a blue token to support one of three selected good causes.

Thanks to the support of hundreds of people that used their tokens to vote for us, we were the grateful recipients of a huge £1,500, which we used to help more kids become confident in the kitchen. And we are in the running once again, with four Tesco stores featuring Kids Kabin as one of three local charities in the running to get a Stronger Start.

From now until the end of March 2025, every time you buy anything of any value from one of the following Tesco Express stores, you can use the token you receive to vote for our Kids Cooking for Community project, which will see young people in the east of Newcastle not only learning to cook, but sharing recipes and food in their community, and with their friends and families:

  • Benton Road Esso, NE7 7EW

  • Jesmond, NE2 2DJ

  • Gosforth, NE3 3BQ

  • Chillingham Road, Heaton, NE6 5LL

Every shopper will receive one token per in-store transaction, and there's no need to buy a carrier bag as well.

The project with the highest number of votes across all four stores will receive the top prize of £1,500, with the second placed project getting £1,000, and £500 will go to the project coming in third.
