Making a difference inside and out

A group of young bakers from Kids Kabin visited Treetops residential village in Walker during half term, to gift them a selection of goods made in our amazing new kitchen.

Treetops residents enjoyed the butterfly cakes, gingerbread men and marble cake at their weekly coffee morning, where they chatted about Kids Kabin's other activities, and about baking and cooking.

When our members asked the group if there was anything they could do to help them as part of our ‘Making a difference’ programme, a brand new project started to take shape!

Some of our members are now working hard to use their skills and make some improvements to the Treetops residents' garden, and ideas being looked at include making a carved wooden sign, bird and window boxes, designing some painted flower pots, adding some hedgehog homes, and words and phrases about nature, growing and community.

Watch this space to see what we come up with! And if you have a community project you'd like our members to make a difference to, get in touch at admin@kidskabin.org.uk.
